Governments should spend money on railways rather than roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Some people believe that the government spend money on the roads. However, others argue that the government should spend money on railways. For this statement, I agree with the statement that the government should spend money on railways.
First of all, the government should spend money on railways to improve the convenience and efficiency in our lives. This is because it takes much less time than drive on the roads. For example, there is a fast train in Korea, we call that KTX. When people take this train from Seoul to Busan, it takes only 2 hours, but when it comes to drive, it takes more than 4 hours. It is clear that taking train saves people’s previous time and feel more comfortable than drive themselves. Therefore, the government should spend much money on railways.
Moreover, spending more money on railways boosts nation’s economy. This is because using by train can enhance work efficiency. For instance, in the case of factory, they have to transfer or move enormous equipments and products all parts of the country, so if they transfer these products by train, it takes less time and it can transfer more than cars. It is evident that using railways enhances work efficiency and finally it leads to improve the country’s economy. Therefore, the government should spend much more money on railways.
To sum up, in order to improve the quality of people’s lives and economy of nation, the government should spend much more money on railways than roads. Therefore, I agree with this statement.
