▶ Your Answer : | There is no doubt that education and the learning process has changed since the introduction of a new technological device - a computer. There is an ever increasing use of such a device especially in the classroom. Due to this, the teachers' position is questioned to be remained in existence to support young learners. I believe that the role of teachers would change, not the elimination of its role. |
| It is clear that, the computers and the internet provides an enormous resources at a faster rate which was not available before. These enable students and professionals can get lot of valuable and necessary information related to any area of study in short time, which is impossible without computers. An advanced learners or professors also advantaged from computers as they can make a selective judgement on information to complete task and can present their work to their superior at a faster rate - through email for instance. Not only this, online classes are widely supported by workers as they can easily grasp further knowledge, which expands their career path, at their own pace. In this way, learners experienced of greatest technological revolutions in the learning processes and can adapt knowledge from a computer not from a teacher. |
| However, teachers' role is different from the computers'. Teachers might be important for students because teachers are not only teaching for resources, but also teaching in regards to human interactions, which can influence society and will affect pupils' personalities to be more positive according to time. In some cases, learners require to repeat the same concept in order to understand fully, which could be done by teachers with an appropriate skill-set selected for them. Teachers' role as a person, who provides a relevant resource, could disappear and this can be substituted with the computers, but the social interactions and guidance part cannot be replaced by the machines. |
| I believe that, in my perspective, teachers play and will continue to play a vital role in the classroom in the future because no machine can replace the human interaction and its consequences. |
