The line gragh gives information on how much each person from the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal, emitted carbon dioxide on average from 1967 to 2007.
In 1967, it is clear that the average carborn dioxide emissions of the United Kingdom was the most highest, with about 11 metric tonnes. The next biggest quantity was from Sweden (about 7 metric tonnes). Averagely emissions of carborn dioxide in Italy and Portugal were about 4 metric tonnes and 1 metric tonnes, respectively.
However, during this 40-year period, the emissions of CO2 in the United Kingdom showed a downward trend, and that of CO2 in Sweden also fell significantly, after reaching a peak point (over 10 metric tonnes) in 1977. By contrast, Italian and Portuguese's CO2 emissions had increased steadily to about 8 metric tonnes and about 5 metric tonnes each. It is interesting to note that they overtook overtaked Swedish's one in 1988 and 2007, respectively.
Overall, although the figure of the United Kingdom showed a downward trend, it remained the highest quantity during the period, whereas that of Sweden had considerably fallen. On the other hand, people from Italy and Porturgal were was continuously continuing emitting more carbon dioxide.
