Your Answer ▼ While the phenomenon of decreasing in the number languages is continuing nowadays, some people think that fewer languages are better since it reduces barriers of languages. I strongly disagree with this opinion, because I think language is the most Important part of individual's life. Language may seems like just a way to communicate with other people. However, the language has a power beyond mere a tool for communication. People's spirit and culture are stem from language. If the country's language disappear, it would be hard for nations to integrate, thereby there would be great chance for the nations to lose patriotism. In fact, when Korea was under-control by Japan, Japan did not allow korean to use Korean by imposing strict principle to eliminate their allegiance toward Korea. Thus, Korean had difficulties standing against Japan. Another critical problem of this issue is the possibility of lack of various cultures. The cultures are based on each nation's own languages. if languages disappear constantly, it means the culture is on the brink of collapse. A Chance to experience and enjoy new cultures will disappear, which will cause lack of culture variety. I think it will be loss for everyone. All in all, for all contention that decline of the languages will make life easier, I argue that there are risks of disappearing in nation's spirits and cultures.
