Title : Art and music classes should not be mandatory at school.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is a common belief that the proportions of taking art and music classes should be reduced to at school. However, I firmly believe that it is essential for adolescences to study these subjects so as to create a variety of thoughts as well as offer them to relax.
To begin with, studying art and music allows teenagers to foster creativity and innovation at school. That's because these subjects enable them to express a variety of their own opinions rather than others and then to share their ideas freely during the class. As a consequence, social relationships among many students can be raised. According to interview with teachers in Finland, they mostly support their pupils to increase the number of art and music classes as they have observed that painting and singing songs have made students take part in other classes actively as well.
On top of that, taking these at school usually provides teenagers to relieve stress. Unlike other subjects such as mathmetics and science, these are based on diverse students' passion and efforts as they directly not only play musical instruments but also make sculptures and drawings to take breaks. For example, in order to prevent adolescences from having stressful feelings at school, the Korea education department enforced to rise the times of art and music classes for students in primary and secondary school.
To sum up, encouraging to study art and music helps pupils to build up creative thinking and enjoy their life. For these reasons, it should be compulsory for them to take these classes a few times per a week. (265 words)
