Doctors, nurses and scientists -- not politicians -- should be leading coronavirus briefings
In the United States, people has been suffering from the virus called COVID-19. Politicians, like governors and the president, have been dominating the briefings on the virus. They explain the situation where the virus is spreading, even if they are not in the forefront of this situation, which means they do not know much about the virus than people in the forefront of this situation.
When politicians say something, people would ask themselves what agenda they present. For instance, when the president Trump insists some opinions, Americans would inquire themselves whether discourses he says are for getting reelected or not. This problem would lead for the public to rise distrust for the government. Under the pandemic, people should follow institutions which the government suggests people to go after based on trust in the government, which means trust between administration and the public is important. However, this faith in officials among the public might be going to disappear by connecting dangerous situation with politics.
Then who are fighting this virus on the front lines? They are doctors, nurses and scientists. They should be in charge of briefings where people would get knowledge about the virus. They must know about the virus very well, which means briefings would be crammed with trustworthy and qualified information. Science is not about religions and politics. Science pursues facts. The public could believe the efficiency of the policies, therefore, they would follow and social order would be under control.
I fully agree with the alternative which the writer suggests. The writer maintains the opinion that scientists should be the ones who ask questions about the virus, and doctors and nurses should be the ones who answer questions. This suggestion would contribute to the extinction of the virus quickly.
