The given line graph depicts the population of India and China from 2000, along with the prediction of two countries’ population growth until 2050, which was investigated by the UN population division.
Overall, it is clear that the two countries populations are predicted to be increased compared to 2000. Although, the population of India plummetted throughout the period, while that of China went up and down.
Looking at the graph more closely, one can see that the number of China’s population was over 1,200 billion, showing a considerable gap between India’s population, 1,000 billion. However, this gap narrows down and the population of India beat that of China after 2030. From 2030, after reaching its peak at nearly over 1,400 billion, the number of the Chinese population will slowly be decreased to 1,400 billion. Unlike China, the number of people in India will continue to rise by reaching 1,600 billion in 2050.
