▶ Your Answer : The bar graph illustrates how the percentage of average house prices changed in five particular cities(New York, Madrid, Tkyo, Frankfurt and London) from 1990 to 2002 compared with that of 1989. First of all, it is interesting to note that average prices of houses in New York decreased to -5% between 1990 and 1995 compared with 1989. However, it recovered that of 1989 and increased to 5% between 1996 and 2002. On the other hand, the percentage of Madrid's average house prices almost doubled from approximately 2% between 1990 and 1995 to 4% in the period of 1996-2002, while the average prices of house decreased slightly throughout the 12 years period from 2.5% to 1.5%. We can observe that house prices in London increased dramatically over the period, while that of Tokyo showed significant decreases from 1990 to 2002 compared with 1989. As clearly seen from the graph, the average house prices in Tokyo and London were similar in the first 6 years period(1990-1995). However, by 2002, house prices in London had soared to over 11%, showing the highest increases among the five different countries. On the contrary, Tokyo's house prices had remained stably at -5% by the end of period. Overall, we can conclude that the average house prices experienced an upward trends between 1990 and 2002 compared with 1989, except in Tokyo(Japan) and Frankfurt(Germany).
