The line gragh illustrates how the amounts of meat consumed changed in Spain from 2001 to 2011.
One of the first things to note is that beef was the most popular meat in 2001, with about 700 grams intaken by Spainish people. After then, the figure of beed considerably fell till 2007. Also the quantitiy of consumed duck decreased gradually in the same period. By contrast, the consumption of chicken showed a rapid upward trend, overtaking that of beef in 2005. The figure was from about 400 grams in 2001 to about 900 grams in 2011.
It is interesting to analyse that there was a drastic change in the consumption of pork. In 2001, pork was moderately popular with the Spainish, but from 2003, the consumption of pork( 300 grams) significantly rose, becoming the second most popular meat in 2011(over 500 grams). On the other hand, there were veal and goat which were the least popular among meat. Despite the low levels of preferance, they remained stable over the period. The range of their consumption was from 100grams to 200grams.
Overall, the chicken, beef, duck and pork categories reported a variey of changes while the rest of them showed stable trends.
