▶ Your Answer :
The number of British passengers commuting
by car, bus or train from 1970 to 2010 and the prediction until 2030 is
illustrated by the given line graph.
Overall, the most popular form of
transportation was the car and it is predicted to be the same until the end of
the projected periods. It is also interesting to note that, the number of
passengers riding the bus decreased and it is expected to decrease, whereas the
train passengers is having an increasing trend.
Initially, the highest number of people (of
about 5 million) was riding a personal vehicle to commute, whereas bus and
train had about 4 million passengers and approximately 2.75 passengers,
respectively. The number of drivers and train commuters continued to increase where
it reached at about 7 million car drivers and 3 million train riders by 2000.
Concurrently, the bus passengers declined substantially to reach at close to 3
million people by 2000.
During 2000 and 2010, the passengers for
train and cars remained constant at 3 million and close to 7 million
passengers, respectively and then these are predicted to increase until approximately
5 million and 9 million passengers by 2030. Meanwhile, the bus is expected to
be the least popular form of transportation as it will have only about 3
million passengers by 2030. |
