The graph shows how many hours per day were spent viewing television in both
Korea and Japan between 1990 and
Overall, it is clear
that people in Korea have watched TV longer than Japan since around 1997. Also,
we can see that the trends in the number of hours spent watching TV were very
similar in both two countries.
Before 1995, hours
used to watch TV in Korea decreased significantly from 5 hours to 3 hours per
day, while those in Japan remained stable. As such, viewing time spent by
viewers of Korea had become less than
that of Japan in 1995 (여기의 경우도 엔터에 있어 마찬가지입니다.)
However, following
1997, there was a considerable change in this trend. Hours spent in Korea
increased dramatically, reaching a peak of 6 hours in around 2000. (이 과정에서 일본의 수치를 따라잡았다는 표현을 넣어주시면 좋습니다.) Thereafter,
it remained at around 6 hours even though there were some fluctuations until 2010 after which it started to decline
considerably. (여기도 그렇고요.)
Similarly, hours used
by people to watch TV in Japan grew until 2000, after which they remained at 5
hours over the next five years with some fluctuations,
the trend of which was very similar to Korea, even
if the range of the increase and decrease was smaller than Korea. From 2005 to
2007, the hours fell considerably to the lowest point of the whole period, and
then, they stayed stable until the end of the period. |
