Overall, it is clear that Turkey has the highest proportion of oil usage in total energy recent years, followed by Italy, Sweden, and Iceland. Also, Turkey's share of oil usage increased between 1966 and 2006. And Italy's share remained approximately constant, whereas Sweden and Iceland's proportion of using oil energy in total declined dramatically for 40-year periods.
Looking at the line graph above more closely, the proportion of oil usage in Turkey remained 60 percent in 1966 but it increased up to almost 90 percent in 2006. And especially Turkey account for the highest use of oil in total energy from roughly 2001. There were roughly no change in Italy, they just made up around 85 percent to 95 percent. Sweden and Iceland had dramatically declined for 40-year periods, and Iceland has the lowest percentage of oil use in total energy by four countries.
