It is a common belief that if people have a
specialized skill, they can succeed in their lives. However, I strongly
disagree with this opinion for the following reasons.
To begin with, success has been affected by
the trends of industries in one’s nation and trends have been rapidly changed recently.
As the historical facts, there is a myriad of evidence to be changed of
success. A farmer who can have huge land was the richest person in the town in
the agriculture era and constructors could earn a lot of money in developing
countries in their whole life. However, in contemporary society, these patterns
are disappeared because of the fast-changing industries. For example, 20 years
ago, everyone read newspapers in the morning so a printing skill could lead
people to success, but in the 21st century, newspapers are no more needed since
digital news sites are replaced the role of it. Therefore, these days, learning
one skill could not be ensured one’s life during one’s working ages.
Also, people can change their traits
through their life, and it could have influenced people’s careers. Most people
have to choose their job in their 20’s and to work for at least 40 to 50 years.
The preparation period is usually too short to recognize what they are good at
and which industries are fit well with their characteristics. In this case,
people find it hard to reach success in a field. Therefore, many people modify
their routs in different ways, even their ages are not young. In this regard,
acquiring one skill could
be limited a person from moving to other possibilities and taken away
from chances to succeed.
In conclusion, although there is an argument
that people can succeed in their life if they focus on a single technic, I disagree
the belief because these days, one skill cannot be ensured their jobs to succeed
due to the changeable industrial trends and people’s changeable features take
them away from success.
