Some believe that children should be
taught from a young age how to handle money.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
People have different views about when is
the best time to learn how to manage money. I personally believe that young
people should know the way of handling money.
On the one hand, it would be not easy for
children to understand how to use money. They are normally students and do not
have full time jobs, as well as they only receive money from their parents.
In other words, as they just spend small amount of money for enjoying with
their friends and do not have enough money to save, it would be almost
impossible to learn how to handle money properly. In addition, as money flow or
economy system can be changed when they spend greater amount of money after
teenager life, teaching young people about money management can
be a waste of time.
On the other hand, I would argue that
early education for children in economy will have a positive impact on their
future life. By learning the flow of money and the view of economists for
current economic issues, young people can understand how important saving and
using money properly are. Also, even though they do not have enough money to
apply what they learn, it would be a great asset for them when they become
adult. For example, when I was a little, my parents taught me the importance of
saving money regardless of the size of it. After learning that, I was able to
have a good habit such as saving coins and putting them into a coin box. It
would therefore be certain that the way of looking at money at early age will
continue to their adult life in a positive way.
In conclusion, it could be early for
children to be learnt how to manage money but I personally think that after all,
it will be able to have a positive effect on children by forming proper view of
money.
