These days, in many countries fewer and fewer people want to become teachers, particularly in secondary schools. What are the reasons for this, and how could the problem be solved?
In recent years, the number of people who want to be teachers are decreasing especially teachers for secondary school students. There should be clear reasons for this issue and I will explain the reasons as well as solution in this essay.
To begin with, many countries show the downward trend in becoming teachers for young children. The one of main reasons can be the lower salary compared to other job fields and teacher’s hard task. This can be affected to young generation when they make decision for their career. Second of all, taking care of young children can be really challenging and tough so that this job requires strong physical strength and patience that young applicants cannot be adapt. Besides, the parents of children are eager to intervene in school system and it could cause a lot of stress and pressure on teachers. The attitude towards teachers from parents is sometimes very impolite and disrespectful. Therefore, many young generations hesitate to become teachers.
To solve this problem, the government should raise the salary and provide better work benefit for teachers in secondary schools to make applicants think that they could receive considerate money after their hard work. For example, many European countries, teachers are one of the most popular job because they receive more salary than other jobs like engineers or programmers. The governments in those countries also provide teachers free extended educational program such as studying abroad or in graduate school. Plus, changing public awareness toward the teachers to be more positive is the most important way of solving this problem.
In conclusion, it is commonly known that teachers require various tough task over the decades and the country should reward them in a material way. Also, students and parents should be taking part in a class with respect towards their teachers.
