Some people believe that charity organisations should help people wherever they live, others think they should attend their countries only. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Around the world, numerous people have been suffering from a wide variety of issues, such as poverty, famine, and diseases. While some argue that charities should support locals in their countries alone, I firmly believe that they are required to assist people all around the world.
It might sound plausible that charity organisations only have to help their citizens. The proponents maintain that the organisations could effectively conduct their activities if they aid locals instead of people in other nations. Services of charities for their region could not only be well-organized, investing their resources and energy solely into resolving regional issues, but also could intensively help people in a long term. Moreover, being able to focus on their activities with cost-efficiency, they could spend more funds on their future activities, including equipment or facilities.
However, despite some merits, my personal view regarding this matter is that the world demands charity organisations to be active all over the world. A vast number of people who cannot receive aid from local governments or organisations are struggling to survive on the globe. Although the world economy has thrived, underdeveloped countries still exist. Therefore, a number of charities, such as Doctors Without Borders as an example, have been helping people across the world. Members of the organisations voluntarily go to other poor countries, ranging from North Korea to African nations, and give a medical hand to people who need to be taken care of. Their activities are contributing to reducing a great range of problems and having impacts on the public.
In conclusion, in spite of some advantages of supporting people only in their nations, charity associations should be required to help those who live in blind spots in different countries, and their activities could improve the quality of life of world citizens.
