Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject.
To what extent do you agree and disagree?
It is widely accepted that men and women has same rights since after the advent of industrialization and democracy. Although some people argue that there are significant lack of particular sex, specially of men today, and university are experiencing same problems in certain departments, I basically believe, with simple thought and long term’s view, that accepting equal number of sex in every subject has many negative aspects.
On top of that, separating one’s ability with feature of sex is originally unfair. In other words, it means, without question, that students who are more qualified may loose their chances to enter the university for the only one reason of their sex. My major, fine art which woman has more qualification traditionally, also divided into the equal number of sex when I was attending. However, its policy had disappeared and after that, did not affect to decrease of particular sex’s entrance number.
Moreover, choosing students with same proportion of sex result to make student less motivate. Some subjects, which have specialties in sex such as ballet and engineering, are approached by particular sex more easily. In this sense, some students may not concentrate on their entrance exams preparation because university’s police guarantee their admission in some rate. Consequently, it results to make unprepared student who has inefficient possibilities for the future development and life. This can be applied to not only men but also woman.
To conclusion, it is true that there is unbalanced sex population these days and one sex has more talent than others in a certain subject. Nevertheless, promising their entrance with biased regulation is not desirable because of students’ development and their attitudes of studying itself.
