Today, parents’
ceaseless interest in children’s education has made them think about the
alternative method of education, homeschooling. While some people argue that home
can be a better place for teaching children than school, others claim that
school still plays an indispensable role in children’s development. I agree
with the latter one.
On the one hand,
it is true that homeschooling has several benefits which cannot be achieved in school
system. Above all, as each child can be tutored 1 on 1 in his or her own
residence, this makes it possible for each student to have customized classes
suited to their different levels of learning capability or goals. For example, when
one child have difficulty understanding some math concepts, homeschooling can be
a effective way to help this child who are troubled in math to catch up with
the ideas and not to give up on the subject by giving him detailed explanation
to the area of math he or her is having a trouble with, which is very difficult
to do in public school system where one teacher have to deal with a number of
students at once.
Nevertheless, I am
personally convinced that learning in school is essential to students in their
early age both socially and academically. For children, school is not only the
place where they just read books and study various kinds of subjects but also
the place where social interaction takes place. In other words, school is the
place where they meet with their peers and build healthy friendships and learn
how to maintain them. In addition, school encourage students to compete with
each other, which leads to a better result for all. Since the school is the
place where similar age of student study and learn together, it is the best
education system in that it can maximizes their performance in class.
In conclusion,
there is a discussion about whether home or school is the best place for the
education for children, I believe that school is necessary for the development
of children. |
