The bar graph illustrates the proportion that those who living in England and Wales bought home and rented accommodation between 1918 and 2011. In overall, the figures of households in owned accommodation increased during the given time, while house holds in rented accommodation depicted downward trend.
Turning to the details, in regard to owning accommodation, the percentage in 1918 represented about 22% which was the lowest in given years. The same figure from 1939 and 1953 was just over 31%. The proportion increased at 40% in 1961. In addition, the data of 50% in 1971 was equal the percentage of renting accommodation. The percentage overtook renting figure in 1981 as 60% and climbed up to 2001, accounting for just under 70% which was the highest. However, in 2011, the figure decreased about 63%.
Secondly, as to renting accommodation, the percentage in 1918 was the biggest, making up approximately 77%. The figure between 1939 and 1953 was equal, near 68%. The proportion declined from just under 60% in 1961 to about 31% in 2001 steadily. In 2011, the date inclined, constituting for 35%. |
