▶ Your Answer : I considerably disagree that all children should start learning a foreign language in the earliest grades.
Recente decade, it tend to be earlier to learn foreign language for children. In my home country, for example, students started learning English in their middle school 10 years ago, but now a days students should study English in first grade of elementary school. Surely, there are good side of learning a foreign language as children are able to learn everything fast especially languages. For instance, baby can learn there mother tougue without studying hard.
On the other hand, sometimes children can easily feel tired of studying something. They could possibly dislike learning a foreign language, because children are already having plenty of subjects to study such as science, mathematics and art. Oppositely, a foreign language disturb to learn there mother language. For example, children who have parents from different nationality, they choose to speake only one language even though they know the other language. Correspondingly, children who moved to a foreign country in there early childhood, they feel confusing about their identity, and sometimes forget their mother toungue.
In my opinion, children should study a foreign language after they have enough time to learn their first language. It is not too late that learning a foreign language in teenages according to their interests. Therefore I think there are more disadvantages learning a foreign language too early at school than advantages. |
