▶ Your Answer :
Throughout history, sports and violence have been synonymous. Thus, it is a debated topic on banning violent sports from TV and
from international sporting competition. However, instead of ban those
activities, I believe that it should be left for people to choose.
TV programs have been providing a variety of programs
include violent sports to entertain people, so it should not be banned. People
can release their stresses by watching other people fighting because it could
feel like the fighters are fighting for us. Furthermore, by watching sports,
people can learn about sportsmen’s skills, abilities, fair play, tolerance, peace, team spirits,
equality etc as well as entertainment. Since there is the correlation between
viewer enjoyment and the understanding of sportsmanship, it should be banned
from TV.
In addition, there is a rising voice to ban violent
sports from international sporting competitions, however, I disagree. Sporting
events can be used as a tool to release the tensions between countries. People
can forget about the differences (of culture, gender, religions) at least
during the game periods. With such an emotion, it can be used in a political
tool where the politicians can enhance the relationships between countries for
the future trades. Not only international sporting competitions have brought
the relationships between countries at ease, but also it would beneficial for
sportsmen. They can get hired in oversea market so that they can bring the
foreign dollars into the local.
In conclusion despite the negativity of emotional
conflicts internationally have been brought by violent sports, citizens would
releases the stresses by watching the players playing sports. |
