▶ Your Answer : Nowadays, many children begin to learn foreign languages in their primary school rather than secondary school. Do you think it is beneficial to children? In my perspective, there are more benefits than drawbacks. To begin with, it is much easier to learn foreign language in the early age as young children are more likely to acquire new knowledge easily. For example, most children in Malaysia learn a lot of foreign languages such as Chinese and English when they are young. Even though it is not their mother tongue, they can speak and read like a native. Also, studying foreign language early, can make children to become fluent which is difficult to obtain when you age. As it is my real life experience, I strongly think that studying foreign language early is better. Moreover, unlike secondary school students, most of the primary school students do not have any stress from studies such as preparing crucial examination. Hence, primary is the best time to learn foreign language as it is difficult to concentrate on second language when you are in secondary school. Also, some secondary students are find difficult to learn and pronounce the new language than primary students as they are already accustomed to their native language. Although, some people think learning foreign language in their primary school is a child abuse, I strongly support my opinion as I met many friends who had satisfied after they learnt the foreign language in their early ages. As long as it is not under the compulsive circumstances, there are more pros than cons. To sum up, I think it is better to start learning foreign languages in primary school than secondary school. |
