Nowadays, many medical experts point out
that people are spending less time on exercise compared with the past. In this
essay, I will discuss a major reason for
this phenomenon and also suggest some solutions.
One of the main reasons for the lack of
exercise is that competition among people has been intensified in the
contemporary
society. Since the financial crisis in
2008, the number of stable jobs has decreased, as numerous companies in the
world
have attempted to save their budget. Thus,
employees are trying to work harder to prove their working abilities not to
retire
earlier than they have planned, while young
adults are struggling to improve their skills to be hired. Therefore, a number
of
people tend to focus on activities related
to their works rather than doing exercise, as it would be regarded as
unproductive.
The governmet could play an important role
in coping with the problem by conducting public health campaigns and
establishing many public sport facilities.
In particular, the campaigns showing the fact that getting exercise would be
helpful
to improve people's working performance by
enhancing their stamina would be a significantly effective way to encourage
them to do more exercise. In addition,
making a number of public sport facilities would tempt people to go to the
places
because they would make them spend less
time to move from their companies or homes to gyms. Accordingly, the more
facilities are built, the more times people
are likely to visit the places in order to do exercise.
In conclusion, I maintain that the
increasing amount of heavy workload of people is one of the most major causes
for the
lack of execise. However, I believe that
public campaigns and many sport facilities which the government could introduce
could tackle the issue. |
