▶ Your Answer :
It has long been
noticed worldwide that computers are used more for educational purpose. But
torn by modern technology development, the role of teacher in the classroom is engendered.
This raises the question “Will computers take place of educator’s duty soon?”
In my belief, such situation will not occur in future for following reasons;
the limit of computer and irreplaceable role of teach as a human relation.
To
start with, the computer has its limit in educating students. The teaching
materials are not up to date and cannot be altered unless there is a person who
can control its input. To illustrate this point, the TOEFL–CBT (Computer based
test, which were terminated in 2006) is chosen. As the name of the exam conveys,
candidates take test through computer. Even it uses the computer to evaluate students,
it is the examiners who create and modify the questions at first place. This depicts
the developed technology is just a toll that gives convince in educating
people.
Moreover,
most importantly, in my opinion, computers are handy but it cannot outweigh the
teacher’s role in various aspects. Since a number of educations deals with interactions
among people, the human’s natural feeling, for instance, feeling of love and
empathy are involved. These feelings are essential for teachers to enable
themselves to helping their students effectively. However, the machine can not
feel such things. In addition, solutions to students’ struggles are different
to each of them. Problems are unable to resolve by pre-set manual of the
system.
In
a nut shell, I strongly believe that the use of computer is integral part of
education, but it is just a handful tool that assists teacher’s duty. I therefore
conclude that the role of the educators in the classroom is secured from the
evolution of computer technology.
