▶ Your Answer : People have divergent views with regards to the
question of the qualities to be a global language in contemporary society.
According to the world becoming globalized, learning another language as a second
language such as English would be required to persons who especially would like
to study or work abroad. From my personal perspective, the essential factors
for this issue are convenience using or learning the language as well as
offering the needs by national power. This essay will outline the potential
qualifications of this phenomenon. To begin with, the language, which is
considered for using worldwide, should be easy to read, write, and speak. Having
conversation with foreigners or sharing information through letters, it is
necessary that the language should be spoken clearly with certain meaning and
written easy way to read for everybody. For example in English, the speaker who
is native in Spanish or French can learn it in a short time because those
languages have similar letters with pronunciation and grammar such as ordering
words. In this regard, common use and familiarity are important to globalize a
language. Furthermore, the power of the
country would be required to affect the language globalized. In this society,
the economy and the combined policies to the military are related with the central
nation in the world. A global language would be required to grow economy
through export products abroad and keep great relationship with powerful
nations. Even though the largest national proportion of used language in the
world is Spanish, English is regarded as a second as well as a global language
all over the world due to this reason. Given the above, the national power effects
have influence on the language. In conclusion, with
aforementioned factors, while there are some opinions to argue in terms of the
qualities as a global language, my own view is that a language, which has
convenience way to learn and the needs for growing or maintaining economic
level of the nation, can lead to be qualified. |
