Looking at the graph more closely, one can see that In 2001 beef was the highest consumption among the six types of meats. However, the amount of beef that was consumed reduced gradually and that plummeted sharply at less 400 grams between 2005 and 2007. Then, the amount of consuming that meat increased since that reached low in 2007. The consumption of duck also decreased steadily over the ten-year period. The amount of chicken that consuming Spanish people increased gradually and the figure of chicken consumption generated the highest consumption at almost 900 grams in 2011. The consumption of goat and pork maintained stably in the first two years, but the figures of these meats soared sharply. However, while the amount of goat consumption reached a peak at nearly 300 grams, the amount of pork consumption went up continuously until 2007.
Overall, the consumption of meats in Spain fluctuated between 2001 and 2011. Though the consumption of veal maintained similar figures at nearly 200 grams per week. |
