▶ Your Answer :
In Korea, many
high school students study alone in library. However, the older they are like
being a university student, the more importance of group study they feel. I
think each study method have advantages respectively. Which one is better? I
prefer group study to study alone.
First of all, studying
alone is more effective in achieving goals for short time. It can focus on the
specific subject deeply. For instance, when I was a high school student in last
semester, I could pass the final exam to enter a university through study alone.
The range of the final exam was confined to some subjects such as Math,
English, and so on, which consists of multiple choice problems almost all. Studying
alone help me concentrate on the exam efficiently for a short term.
However, group
study also offers some merits to the students. During group study, students listen
to diverse opinions from other students. Compared to other opinion, they can improve
critical thinking and also enhance their communication skill, saying own opinion.
When I was a university student majoring
in Economics, for example, I could meet a peer enrolled in environment
engineering. We discussed about well-being for developing countries. I just emphasized
on economic value for poor countries, while he focused on social value as well
as economic value. I could learn about importance of broad understanding and various
departments could contribute for an object.
To sum up, there
are many merits between studying alone and group study. However, when asked
choose one thing, as far as concerned, I think group study is more effective because
learners are able to get useful insights in society from different perspectives.
Through it, their own understanding of the subject matter could be further
improved. |
