The pie charts show the proportion of online music service use by age group in the US between 2013 and 2017.
Overall, it is clear that the share of online music service users from 10s to 20s increased significantly during the four-year period. In contrast, the proportion of older users in online music went down considerably from 2013 to 2017.
Looking at the charts more closely, the proportion of 40s users in online music, representing 34 percent in 2013 plummeted to 14 percent by 2017 and the percentage of users above 50 years old shows similar pattern to 40s' figure. On the other hand, teenager users' figure in online music, which was five percent in 2013, accounted for roughly one-forth in 2017. Moreover, the proportion of online music users from 20s, representing 18 percent in 2013, nearly doubled to 34 percent, which was the highest figure in 2017. Meanwhile, the share of 30s users went up by only two percent in 2015 and then it declined sharply to 24 percent in the end of the period in question.
