▶ Your Answer :
The line graph below presents the figure
for goods transported in the United Kingdom from the year 1974 and 2002. Four
different modes of transport are shown: road, water, rail, and pipeline.
During the research period, by road takes
the highest methods of transport. Moreover, the quantity by roads is gradually
increasing. Starting from the year 1974, by rail takes higher rank than by
water. However, from 1978, by water shows sudden increase and takes second
highest means of transport. For a while, by water hovers below 60 million tones
until 1998, thence it steadily rises. The means of transport by pipeline shows
the lowest figure in the graph, while starting from 1974 it continuously increase.
After this trend, it levels off at about 22 million tonnes from about 1995
until 2002.
In conclusion, by road is the most popular
means of transport in the UK, and it even takes the highest number, at about
100 million tones even in 2002. Comparing it, the growth of the others are not compatible
with it.
