Currently usefulness as to advertising is still controversial. Unlike companies, some parents argue advertising tells too much information about snacks and toys to children. In this controversy, I go to parents’ argument with two obvious reasons.
Most advertising is usually overestimated or exaggerated for the interest of companies. This fake information, pretty far from truth, negatively influences on health condition of children. Melanin shock, for example, is a good case to support my opinion. Last year, our parents fell into a severe shock from melanin, chemical additive, added to snacks. Broadcasted on CNN, most countries recalled most snacks with melanin such as Oreo, usually which were made in China, and also boycotted until such snacks would prove safe. Before this, all companies put false information into their commercial and customers believed it. For this reason, it would be silly to trust 100% advertising presented by companies.
Second, advertising also gives wrong information about toys to children. This wrong information also drives buyers to put into danger, physically and mentally. Best example is about my cousin’s. Five years ago, we watched a commercial about Babie with my cousin, saying that Babie gives children happiness, enjoyment, or fantasy. After it, I presented my cousin that toy expensive at Harrods Department Store. But in few months, my cousin hospitalized for two months to cure her skin. Her doctor told us that she was infected with harmful chemical used to the Babie toy. The toy was a disaster, not stuff like happiness. So, I believe information on advertising is not true.
To sum up, some people still may believe advertising gives them useful information. But they need to think again when they choose products like snacks and toys for their children. Wrong choice will be connected to unhappy outcome.
