According to 2 charts, the information
about what students in UK who finished their graduate and postgraduate courses
chose to do except full-time work in 2008.
First of all, there is a similarity
observed both for graduate and postgraduate students. The largest portion of
students decided to do further study and the number of students is 29,665 in
graduate and 2,735 in postgraduate respectively. 16,235 students remained
unemployed among graduate students, whereas 1,625 students could not find a job
after postgraduate program. For voluntary work, 3,500 of graduates and 345 of
postgraduates participated.
On the other hand, 2 notable differences
are shown in these graphs. Total number of students is almost 10 times bigger
in graduate program than in postgraduate one. Also 2,535 students in postgraduate
made their choice to do part-time work, which is the similar number to that of
further study. However, students in graduate program are less likely to choose
part-time work and it takes only 17,735 students, which is about 60 percent of
further study.
In conclusion, definitely more people
completed their graduate programs than postgraduate ones. However, it is the
most popular choice to do further study in both of groups.
