The recent trend of
globalisation has brought many changes in our lives, and it is true that, as a
result of this, the way countries look like are getting similar these days.
Although some people argue that this has many drawbacks, personally, I regard this
as a positive progress.
On the one hand,
compared to the past, it is becoming hard to notice the huge difference between
countries. For example, in the past, a variety methods were used as a mean of
transportation, such as horse, elephant and man-powered vehicle.
Consequently, different places used to have their own unique landscape which
enable people tell the distinction from one another. However, as automobiles
are widely supplied all over the world, it is not easy to tell the difference
between countries by looking at the vehicles they are utilising.
In my opinion, we should
regard this as an advantageous evolvement. Firstly, it enables people to find
their feet more easily without unnecessary costs. For example, a person on a
business trip to another country will have less difficulty employing car rent
service if a particular motor brand is prevalent around the world. Secondly, it
facilitates the process of idea and information sharing. For instance, it is
much more convenient to transmit data between users when they use the mobile or
laptop from the same company. Finally, although it is true that it may have a
negative impact on cultural diversity, I believe its consequences would be very
limited. This is because what more affects the cultural diversity is not
products they use but their building pattern, language, behaviour and
environmental surroundings.
In conclusion, countries
look similar in many ways compared to the past due to globalisation, and I
think this is welcoming trends because it comes with many benefits such as less
adaption costs and facilitated movement of information.
