Nowadays,
there is a pressing issue regarding the value of entertainment such as video
games. Some people point out that it would have negative effects on not only
individuals but also society. I totally disagree with this idea because it can
be helpful in various ways.
On the one
hand, enjoying entertainment contents would be beneficial for individuals to be
more productive and creative. For example, many people can recuperate by
playing a video game because they can get away from heavy workload that they have a burden of. Thus, they could more intensively concentrate on their tasks after
the joyful experiences. In addition, some people could improve their creative
skills from the entertainment contents. For instance, a famous Korean SF
writer, Nuri, said that he could produce his texts, being inspired by games
vitually representing future society. Therefore, it could have positive effects
on people's productivity and creativity.
On the other hands, entertainment could contribute to a society by providing people
with a developed way of education. In particular, the virtual reality that
video games construct has trained people in a not real circumstance. For
example, drivers who haven't driven before can learn how to operate cars by
playing racing games not driving real cars. Because they can be educated the
some skills such as driving a car or an airplane without any concerns about real
accidents, it would be a safer way to be taught some dangerous skills.
Therefore, some entertainment experiences could be not only joyful but also
educational.
In
conclusion, I strongly believe that entertainment even like playing a video
game, although it seems a waste of time. This is because it would have high
levels of availability making people improve their abilities and giving some
people safer places to learn risky skills. |
