Using animals for medical experiments violates the rights of animals and therefore should be banned. |
In an increasingly convenient life, people's interest in animals is rising too all over the world. When it comes to animals' right to not be involved in medical experiments, there are lots of controversies exist between people. I agree with the statement for the following reasons.
Firstly, using animals for medical experiments in order to cure humans' diseases is wrong because animals' organs and functions are not the same as humans'. Thanks to breakthroughs in medical science, life expectancy in many countries has doubled in the last one hundred years. As a result, people pour a myriad of money into undefined experiments in which many animals are used and ,supposedly reveal no side- effects. It might looks appealing at first but animals are a small mechanism so we can not overlook the dark side to all of this.
In addition, considering animals a subject for exprimentation will seriously threaten the relationship between human and animals. most common ones which are used for experiments are mice, guinea pigs and , occasionally, dogs and monkeys and none of these are wild animals. Furthermore, human beings have been rely on animals and treat them as their own children. Some people overcome their illness or loneliness while feeding, hugging, and bathing animals. Consequently, human's selfish and greedy attempts to live longer by hurting animals could not be acceptable.
To conclude, as animals have been human's old friends over the past years and their body functions are quite unreliable and unmatchable to humans', experimenting on animals for human treatment should be banned. |
