Becoming a university student means being an adult. So, when some people go to university, they want to be independent from their parents so they live alone, while others live still with parents. Both have advantages and disadvantages, but in my opinion, there is more merit in living with parents.
To begin with, living with parents could be very beneficial for students. The most advantage is that they save money. Because they do not need to spend for room rent, boarding and furniture, so they do not worry about money. Moreover, if students do part-time job while they are living with their parents, they can spend money more freely on things that they want or can save for the future. Secondly, they can unburden themselves to housework. Since people living alone have to solely do housework and make food, they could get stressed but, if they live with parents, they can divide the work. As a result, they can have more free time and can use the time for studying or playing. Finally, they can prevent wasting a lot of time on playing computer games or hanging out with friends.
Some people say that a university student is an adult, they should learn independence, so they need to leave their parents. I agree that they must learn self-reliance, but disagree that they need to leave their parents because, it is irrelevant that living away from parents could teach them to be learn independent. To learn self-reliance, students need not live alone but should effort to resolve their own problems. Furthermore, if they live with parents, they can receive quick feedback and get tips about resolving matters. It will be helpful for them to learn self resolution.
In conclusion, living with parents has more merits than leaving them as a student attends the university, such as saving money, relieving oneself from housework, preventing waste a lot of time and learning. |
