Computers can translate all kinds of languages well so our children don't need to learn more languages in the future? |
It is debatable whether our children do not need to learn more languages in the future since computers can translate all kinds of languages well. Some people might agree with the topic, which is given. However, I totally disagree with the statement because of a couple reasons that I am going to talk about in this essay. Firstly, translators from computers are not perfect at all. Also, our children cannot carry their computers or laptops everywhere, I mean, whenever they have a chat with people from different countries. First of all, I can say that translators do not translate languages well at all. Go to Google and use translator. We can easily find out lots of errors. Some sentences, which are the ones from translators, are pretty hard to understand even though they are translated in our mother languages. Here, hard to understand means that it is even difficult to guess what they mean. As you see, there are tons of errors when we use translators from computers. Therefore, I certainly disagree with the topic. Furthermore, yes, it is true that laptops nowadays are getting smaller and smaller, but our kids cannot take computers or laptops everywhere they go just to use them as translators. First, computers are too big to carry, then should they take their laptops every time they talk to people from other countries? Well, maybe it is up to them, but it will be so uncomfortable since they will just have to seat and talk by using computers to translate each others. I will just like to learn other languages instead of using computers to translate since they are useless in many situations. To sum up, we are living in really developed world but it is not right if we think that our children do not need to learn more languages since they can use computers to translate. As I mentioned from the top, translators not only do not translate languages correctly at all but also they are not easily able to carry most of time. |
