serious problems in many countries. In this essay, I will examine main causes
of this problem and suggest some solutions to tackle this problem.
There are several reasons why global fresh water is
lacking. Firstly, global warming rises the annual global temperatures, and
accelerates fresh water to evaporate. To be specific, it is often reported that
due to global warming, the amount of precipitations in many regions become
unpredictable, making administrators in the regions cannot manage to the usage
of fresh water, causing the lack of fresh water. Secondly, the increasing
number of global populations leads to overconsumption and irresponsible
privatization of fresh water. Lastly, pollutants, such as disease agents
released from factory farm industry, fertilizers and chemical-laden
agricultural runoff seeps into groundwater, contaminating the quality of fresh
water.
The problem of the lack of fresh water is important
global issue for some reasons. To
elaborate, without enough fresh water, farming industry in many countries will
fail and it will result in the increase in the price of many crops, making the
poor suffering from hungers. Also, water deficiency affects various curable
diseases to be fatal in developing countries due to poor hygiene. Therefore, it
is very imperative for many governments and multi-national companies to take on
action to address this problem, collaborating with conscious global citizens.
Most importantly, governments in many countries should impose “green tax” on
responsible companies to global warming in order to mitigate released
greenhouse gases in air. Also, governments and agricultural companies together have
to revolutionize to manage fresh water wisely, selecting organic farming
methods and early-mature crop varieties. Lastly, it is also very pivotal for
individuals to participate in solving this problem by buying water-efficient
household chores machines and sometimes by boycotting some companies which
damage the quality of water irresponsibly.
In conclusion, there are many causes to lack fresh
water worldwide, and it is very significant for governments, companies and
individuals to take part in tackling this problem in various ways.
