▶ Your Answer : The bar graph illustrates how many men and women who studied full-time or parti-time in further education in Britain for a 20-year period from 1970 to 1991. As an overall trend, there was a general increase in their further education, with the exception of men's part-time study.
Looking at the graph in more detail, part-time education of male stated off at 1,000,000 in 1970/71, and then it decreased slightly to approximately 900,000 in 1980/81. In 1990/91, the number of men's part-time study recovered to just over 900,000. In contrast, the number of women's part-time study showed a marked increase during the same period. Although this number started off the lowest point, at just over 700,000 , in 1970/71, it went up siginificantly to 1,100,000 in 1990/91, which was the largest number of all figures shown.
On the other hand, full-time education for both male and female showed a steady increase during the same period. Compared to 1970/71, the number of men's full-time study doubled to around 200,000 in 1990/91. Meanwhile, women's full-time education more than doubled.
