Even though the development of agricultural science are gradually witnessed these days, people all over the world continue to suffer and even die from hunger. It is clear that solving the problems is not easy but there are feasible steps which governments take. There are two main reasons why so many people still have trouble with starvation. First of all, the most serious one is that the trait of agriculture is dependent on geographical elements. In India, it is difficult to cultivate agricultural products due to a climate of high temperature and humidity, devastated soil and desertification, compared with Asia. In addition, it is fact that surprisingly a lot of farmers make a sacrifice themselves because most nations that agriculture developed independently focus on export. For example, even if the peasants in sub-Saharan Africa produce crops by using forefather's farming techniques and transfer it to Western countries, those people tend to be affected by malnutrition. In my opinion, for above mentioned causes it depends on governments' action. Firstly, as the major reason of desertification and devastation is not only especially the excessive amount of chemical fertilizer but also residents who are not trained information associated with issues, therefore governments should educate for locals about sustainable and efficient instructions of compost as well as exploit environment-friendly fertilizer. Also, it is crucial for farmers to recognize the level of contamination in their own farmlands and deal with deteriorating the situation. Moreover, the states need to enact and implement practical policies such as limiting overseas export. This is because the states always should place priority to not capital profits but nationals' welfare and stability. In conclusion, it is obvious that the world are faced with intense hunger because of geographical attributes and too much exports despite continued the improvement of agricultural science yet governments can enforce active education and schemes to handle the circumstance. |
