Over the past Few
years, the effects of urbanization have been becoming more and more visible in
our society. The urbanization's contribution to our society has play an
important role to make our life better, but it also brought about many issues.
This essay will study its major causes and discuss its effect.
In modern society,
urbanization led cities being populated and there are some reasons in this
trend. At the outset, people immigrate to cities to seek for a better
occupation. Majority businesses and firms are centralized in city areas because
its advantageous of location which would boost their capacity of responds and
lead them to be competitive. Consequently, those cities offer people better
education facilities and institution for the needs. These infrastructures in
cities attract more and more people from comparatively less developed areas
such as rural areas day by day.
On the contrary,
some people claim that urbanization has brought detrimental side effects to our
society. One of the reason their rationale behind their claim is that
urbanization caused housing prices in city areas sky-rocketed. This phenomenon
contributes enlarging the gap between the poor and the rich, which leads social
conflicts between the parties. Furthermore, tremendous amount of taxes is spent
for rebuilding traffic system in urban areas due to the enormously increased
traffic amount. The risen traffic in urban areas also produces a significant
amount of Co2 gas and greenhouse gas from car emissions, and this results in
the diminish of public health due to the pollution of air quality.
In conclusion, cities
attract people to move in and offer them with developed infrastructures, and a
large number of citizens immigrates to urban areas to seek for a better job and
education systems every day. However, it has not to be overlooked that
urbanization has negative side effects such as rising housing prices and
environmental pollution, and solutions need to be taken place immediately. |
