There is disagreement regarding the issue of whether art and music subjects should not be compulsory. Some people say that learning these subjects a waste of time which can be spent to learn more important subjects such as math and foreign language. On the other hand, others insist that all students should take art and music classes as mandatory subjects at school since it has lots of benefits. My opinion is totally belonged to the latter.
To begin with, learning art and music is to help the students deal with their stress. To be more specific, if educators give only silence lessons (이걸로 수학/과학 등을 표현할 수 있는지는 의문이네요.) to their students, they are readily sick of it. This situation would lead to the result that the students are under a lot of pressure from school. For instance, most students, in Korea, tend to avoid specific classes that make them only look at the book during the lessons whereas they prefer the classes that they can be enjoyable such as painting, singing along, and playing games. Moreover, if schools want the students to have in-depth imagination, art and music classes should be essential subjects. This is a good example that when the students are trying to paint, they should draw pictures in there head first and then paint with their hands. This process helps them boost imagination. Also, they can be susceptible to express their feeling that they may not be able to express in words. This show that art and music classes have to be mandatory to cultivate students' ability to express themselves. (본론 첫 번째 문단과 달리, 여기는 근거 전개가 매우 깔끔하게 되었습니다. 본론1도 이런 식으로 수정해주세요~)
In conclusion, being making compulsory subjects compulsory which are art and music is a contentious topic because there are opinions that support and oppose this basic idea. However, I personally believe that art and music classes, which are relevant with dealing students' stress and helping increase imagination, should be mandatory. |
