With the development of society, the news media have developed more and
affected people’s lives. Some people believe this symptom has drawbacks. Personally,
I think that this situation has both negative and positive parts.
The most important thing that people should consider is that the mass media
has become a real eye-opener to the public. Thanks to the Internet, individuals
have had different kinds of news media, and are able to get more objective and
various information instead of selected ones which were chosen from administrators.
That is the reason why the masses can know international real information while
organizing their opinion faster. For example, there has been serious
international news these days related to HongKong. Despite the control of
journalism by the government of China, people who have been living in other
countries could know the real situation of HongKong and have been supporting
their movement.
However, there have been also some negative impacts. It cannot be denied
that more and more people are tired of huge amount of news that they should get
without their intention. Under the unlimited information, the wider public is
feeling irritated and frustrated and some of them would have severe mental
anxiety. More importantly, some mass media have been trying to make various
fake news to be attracted and to earn more money, finally this situation makes other
social problems such as suiciding or bullying. For instance, some celebrities
have suicided because of their gossip that had been made through the media.
In conclusion, I think that people could get wider information through
the developed news media, however the news media have made other serious social
issues. Thus, it has both positive and negative impacts. |
