The chart illustrates social and economic indicators for Canada, Japan, Peru
and Zaire in 1994 based on United Nations statistics.
Overall, the public who lived in countries that showed a higher annual
income and a higher literacy rate also scored higher life expectancy than their
counterparts and took more daily calories.
Each of the two countries showed a similar pattern of statistics.
Firstly, the annual income was higher than 10,000 us dollars in Japan and
Canada, 15, 760 dollars and 11,100 dollars respectively. Meanwhile, their
counterparts, Peru and Zaire, scored just around 150 dollars. The life
expectancy at birth that the gap was almost 30 decades was also higher in
Canada and Japan. In Canada and Japan, the adult literacy rate was the same at
99%, meanwhile, Zaire was roughly one third at 34%. However, the daily calorie
supply per person was the highest in Canada at 3326, whereas that of Zaire was
almost a half. |
