▶ Your Answer :
It is an undenible fact that traffic
accidents cost a thousand of people’s lives every year. While there is an argument
in favour of introducing age limit to decrease the rate of accident, it is
still questionable that whether the limiting age of drivers is worthwhile to
implement or not. Personally, I am in line with an argument that age limit for
drivers should be encouraged to resolve the issue with vehicle accident.
To begin with, many people assert that
traffic accidents are not linked to age. They insist that whether drivers are
young or matured, they have different ability of driving skills and therefore
this is not of case. Regardless of how old they are, most motorists have a
various physical abilities and this should not be restriced by age but ability
they possess. If only some of certain aged group were allowed to take a wheel,
it would be disadvantageous for those who have a skill to drive but out of the
certain age. Hence, equal opportunity should be given to everyone who is able
to drive without limitation of age.
In contrast, multifarious points can be
made to support an argument that raising or lowering of age to allow people to
drive is an effective way to save potential drivers. It is widely acknowledged
that young people have tendency that run faster and are without careness. This
is backed up by the high toll of accidents amongst young drivers. Aged group is
also vulnerable to hazard surroundings and other unexpected harmful environments
because they response slower than other different aged groups. Therefore, it
makes a sense why most insurance companies charge those young and aged driver
more fee than others.
To conclude, although it would be a breach
of equality against young and aged drivers, it is convinced that certain aged
group should not be seated on driver side as it causes latent dangers to other people.
