It is true that only a few women are working in the upper positions like mangers or CEOs in their companies, even though there are a number of women in workforce these days. While this is not a problem that could be easily solved, making a shift in the overall atmosphere of our society might help significantly.
The main cause of this issue is the social tendency to not hire women for the senior positions. This trend had also affected not only the employment for executives, but also the whole positions in the job market in the past. Such negative current is now alleviated, but still remaining when it comes to the senior places. This kind of tendency is due to the various prejudices against females within our society, regarding them women as people who are not rational as much as men are. These biased opinions often refer that female workers are not eligible for taking upper positions, because they are too emotional so that they cannot make logical decisions effectively.
However, there are some solutions to this problem. One of the ways to get rid of this prevalent trend is to encourage the major companies to hire women as being an excellent example for the entire society. It is the most effective way to break this social atmosphere which is negative for women in the upper positions, since our socity is not the one that would fix its partial way of thinking for itself. Showing the direct cases of the major companies would be the great motivations for the other industries. In other words, making a positive view for femal CEOs by this way would lead to the opportunity for women in workplaces who deserve those positions.
In conclusion, it is clear that the social trend has made the employment rate in the senior positions for female workers terribly low. Nevertheless, this issue can be resolved by showing a good model of the major companies having a lot of women in the higher places. |
