Some people think a country benefits from a large proportion of young university students, others think sending young people to universities only leads to graduate unemployment. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
It is true that most high school students
go to the universities. Some people claim that there are benefits to a country
by young people going to the universities. However, others argue that entering
the universities is just increasing the graduate unemployment rates.
To begin with, there are some people
arguing that high school students have to go to the university for studying and
getting more knowledge. On the whole, a lot of companies hire people with
college degree than those who don’t have it. For this reason, most parents want
their children to go to the university, which leads to benefits to a nation.
On the other hand, other people say that
there is no advantage of earning a college degree anymore. To be specific,
since most students are required to go to the university, most people go to the
university and graduate it so there is no gap between people who earned a
college degree and those who don’t have it because there are no people who don’t
go to the university these days in the first place. For this reason, the
graduate unemployment rates cannot be decreased. For this weird culture, going
to the university can just be the waste of time and money. Rather, it could be
better for students who are going to graduate high school to learn specialised skills
or what they want to do for their career than entering the university.
In conclusion, as stated above, both views
have strong points. However, it seems that learning beneficial skills or doing
what students want to is more useful and efficient. Thus, not going to the university
is better way for students.
