담배 중독은 누구 때문인가? 담배 중독자들? 정부? 담배 제조자들? 아니면 그들 모두?

Nowadays, addiction to cigarettes is the big problem in many countries. One might say that only the smoker is to blame. However, there are 3 groups that should be blamed for their addiction: the government, the smokers and the cigarette manufacturers. But, I don't deny that the smokers are a group that should be blamed mostly. First, the smokers are to blame for their own addiction. There are some people who had succeeded in quitting it. It means that the others can also quit it even there is a chemical ingredient, nicotine. If one is patient, he or she can quit it by oneself. If not, little helps from other people; for instance, not allowing their excuses such as "Only this time, not tomorrow.", will make them quit smoking. Also, government are responsible for today's addictions. Of course government tried to solve the problem; government appoint nonsmoking places and making nonsmoking advertisements and educations. However, those are actually useless to addicted people, and few people participate in those government's support. So, I think the government should make more powerful systems such as penalty system. Also, cigarette manufacturers have a fault. Their caution written in the cigarette is too weak. It is only said, 'It will hurt you, will you really smoke it?". That's too weak! Ice creams can hurt people; it'll make cold and vegetables might hurt us. So, some people might think the cautions seriously. Makers should make strong cautions such as "It will make you die soon." or "It'll make you suffer from terrible cancer." Then, some people who smoked it will maybe stop smoking.
However, both government and manufacturers are hard to do more than they do now. If manufacturers do as I want, their company will be perished because so many people won't buy their products. Government is facing too many other problems, they have to solve the other bigger problems, and it'll take too long for them to solve it. So, smokers are the group who can quit themselves from smoking. If they only care about themselves, and their family and friends, and if there are other people's help, it would be easy to stop it. It's them who'll be sick.
Smokers should at least try to quit it with others' help and government should declare restrict systems. And manufacturers should make a better caution. Then, maybe there would be no smokers in this world. |
