Studying in a college or university has pros and cons in each choice. Students studying at college can graduate 2 year earlier and and start building up career in their early 20's whereas students who choose to study in university can have various social activities in their extended year. After final anaysis, i concluded studying at university had more advatages in long term career building.
First of all, since campus is not preparation institution for equiping a person with specific skill but extended part of education for socialization. Many students who graduated college feel regret that they forced themselves to study hard because of time contraint and spend less time in extra curricular activities with peers. Considering the fact that building a successful career doesn't only consist of personal skills and accomplishments but interpersonal relationship have huge influence on it, it is important to network with various people at all level and take fully advantage of it in later career building. Also experiences in various extra curricular activities allow a person with widened horizons and better understanding in the given situation, which can positively influence on business decision making.
Second reason why i prefer university comes after consideration on the salaries starting right after graduation. In general, students graduating from college tend to be underestimated in their skills and paid less. And more frustratingly, they seemed to have more difficulties in getting promoted than those with bachelor's degrees. The survey that CEO with diploma degree accounts for such a small percentage in overall shows that there is invisible obstacles for those who graduated from college to get a higher position despite their longer career years. That is the reason why people seeks for higher education when they reach certain managerial position in order to eligible themselves with qualification for higher position.
All things considered for better career building, I strongly believe that studying in university does have more pros than cons in the sense that it allows a person various social activities that opens up the extended way of thinking, higher salaries to start with, and bigger chance to get promoted to.
