Your Answer ▼ Sedack These days, some products have been gradually over packaged compared to the past. While some people say that buying products or not is up to customers mind so it is their responsibility, others think supermarkets and manufacturers need to reduce the amount of packaging. In this essay both opinions and my personal thought will be discussed.
Some people think that increasing the amount of packaging of products is inevitable to manufacturers and supermarkets because of the increased prices of ingredients which are used for making products. Over packaging is just the strategy of marketing, thus it is absolutely usual response of manufacturers to the economical changes and not for making customers annoying. Therefore, people need to understand that this issue is coming from the general economical statement, and have their own rational choice of whether they buy or not.
However, others say that over packaging is obviously deception of customers. Although it is just the strategy of marketing, people will feel unsatisfaction when they buy over packaged products at first. In addition, after people know manufacturers' strategy, there is no meaning of marketing, because customers would avoid to buy that goods. That is, over packaging is not efficient way of sale, rather the waste of resources. If enterprises invest more money in unnecessary packaging, the cost that customers should pay for buying will be unnecessarily increased. Therefore, in all aspects, manufacturers should reduce the amount of packaging for the products.
In conclusion, I personally think markets and manufactures have a responsibility to lessen the amount of packaging for their products for the reasons of deception of customers, and the waste of resources. |
