The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.
The line graph illustrates the consumption of four different ingredients meats namely, fish, chicken, beef, lamb in an European nation from 1979 to 2004.
It is noticeable that the consumption of beef and lamb decreased during the period, but chicken consumption increased. On the other hand the amount of fish consumed was remained stable. The beef was the most consumed meat in 1979, while chicken took the place but chicken in 2004.
A person ate 220 grams of beef per week In in 1979, followed by lamb and chicken which were consumed approximately 150 grams per week. However, fish was much less consumed and was reported as 60 grams per week. Though there was a sharp increase in 1980, the amount of beef consumed decreased continuously to 100 grams in 2004 ; the amount had been halved by 2004. In contrast, the figure of chicken went up gradually to around 250 grams a week in 2004, and it became the most consumed meat in this country. The amount of lamb consumed gradually decreased to 70 grams in 2004, but compared to beef, it was a small change. Fish consumption showed slight changes and stayed at around 50 grams per week during the whole period.
